Spare Room Start Up

Harriman House

Waterstone's means business

Waterstone's is launching a new business book of the month campaign, which promotes a different business book every month.

The first title to be featured in May 2008 is Spare Room Start Up by Emma Jones (Harriman House), a book that aims to help entrepreneurs set up business from their homes. The book will be supported by special point of sale material in store.

Emma Jones is the creator of the home business website www.enterprisenation.com. In the book, she recounts lessons she has learnt in setting up and establishing her home businesses.

"The average commuter will travel two-and-a-half times around the world during the course of their working life," she said. "So, if yours is a 60-second commute imagine the savings you can make in time and money. But the first journey you'll take is with me. With this book you'll be up and running in no time."

The campaign is being handled by Andrew Lake, buyer for business and computer books at Waterstone’s.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Emma Jones is founder and editor of Enterprise Nation (www.enterprisenation.com), the home business website, and has started two businesses herself from home offices in London, Manchester and rural Shropshire. Following a career with an international accountancy firm, Emma started her first business at the age of 27 and successfully sold it just 15 months after launch.

The home business website was launched in 2006, and has attracted a regular readership of more than 390,000 people and national press headlines. The site is a free resource for people starting and growing a business from home. As well as site content, there’s also a fortnightly e-news and video show.

Emma appears regularly in the media with profile pieces in Good Housekeeping, The Guardian, The Sunday Times and City AM. Also in customer magazines for Orange, Microsoft and Viking Direct, and online at Real Business and TimesOnline.
